Get Over Your Trauma.

How do you get over your painful past? How do you get over your trauma?

You don't.

Beforehand, I would say that I am no psychiatrist, licensed psychologist, or therapist. I am just a mere writer and human. If you suffer from clinical depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other mental illnesses, please go refer to the professionals.

I am sure everyone has gone through something, a special event in their life that will change them forever. A specific event that will change someone into a new different person. A specific event that will haunt you, taunt you and even though it is in your past, it became your nightmare.

A nightmare which you don't speak in public of. Just a keyword from that event will trigger your memory and freezes you like you were struck by lightning. At lightspeed, it burns you. Then, you are speechless and frozen.

Then you realized that all this time, you have been repressing your feelings. You have been hiding your past deep in the corner on the dark side. You are not healed yet. It was just you skipping a chapter in your life and pretending you are okay.

Or maybe not?

Maybe you are the kind of person who overcame your difficulties in the past, and you tell stories about it. You act toughly though you are the only know what is happening inside of you and how much in pain you are inside. Or how much pain you have gone through to reach this top.

For me, I don't know why I can't remember details about my painful memories. I can only remember the excruciating pain. And I became so forgetful these days, geez. Like someone that I loved used to say that he was so forgetful that he can get admitted to the hospital.

The thing is you will never get over it 100%. Some people took different approaches. Some kept their past like confidential government top secrets while others simply sing about it to the whole world.
Which one are you?

Doesn't matter. It matters that you are still alive right now that you have a chance to reminisce about your past.

You may be okay but not fine enough to talk about it but still, congratulations, you did well.

Your past can not hurt you unless you let it so. It just memories. There is nothing to be scared of.
Live in the moment. Don't worry about the future yet. Just live..in this..moment.

You don't have to carry your past like a piece of baggage, it can drain you mentally.

You made it. You overcame it and embraced it. That's why a new chapter for you has begun.
